Summer Ringers 2024-2025

The 2024/25 Summer Ringers Competition was finalised after the completion of round 12. Leighton Sparks (12.655) in the end held onto the lead since taking over the lead in Round 5. His winning margin increased after attaining another qualifying birdie on Hole # 10, to 1.305 on 46.345, over Peter Marsh (30.350) who held the second spot on 47.650.

Improving 3 places into third place is Richard McCaskill (25.318) on 48.682, a further 1.032 behind. Colin Harrison (22.330) improved 1 place to lie in fourth spot, on 49.670. The top 10 places this week are separated by an increased margin of 5.177 (3.963).      

There were 20 new birdies or better recorded last week, bringing the final tally by the field to 262, a record number. The highlights being the only sub 80 rounds shot by S Y Park (3.5) with a 75 off the Black tees, a round of 79 shot by Spencer Wicks (4.4) also off the Black tees and a 75 shot by Rouan Buitendag (5.3) off the Silver Tees which included a tally of two eagles scored on Holes # 12 and # 16 and two birdies.

The final leader in the birdies or better statistics was held by Leighton Sparks (12.655) with 14 birdies. Next is Rouan Buitendag (5.880) with a tally of two eagles and 10 birdies , followed by Mal Ashton (8.834) and S Y Park (4.413) with an eagle and 11 birdies. Next are Richard Maguire (10.809) and Ram Thapa (10.842) having 10 birdies each. With 9 eagles attained by the field, this a record number in either Ringers Edition. 

In the end 53 players registered a bogey or better on every hole. 

The hardest ranked holes determined by the numbers of birdies or better carded after Round 12, is Hole # 9 with five birdies recorded by the Ringers field, with the next being Hole # 2 with only 6 birdies recorded. The easiest hole is Hole # 1 with 32 birdies or better by different players. The next easiest is Hole # 12 with 29 birdies or better by different players, then Hole # 14  with 19 birdies.
