Summer Ringers 2024-2025

Round 6 of the 2024/25 Summer Ringers Competition saw about 85% of the competitors come out to play. This round saw Leighton Sparks (13.180) consolidate his lead to lead by 3.080 on 50.820 (a weekly  improvement of 3.780), over Jonathan Kemp (18.100) who improved 7 places on 53.900.

Remaining in third place is Robert Tibbotts (12.733) on 54.267, a further 0.367 behind. Vance Hetaraka (13.517) improves 10 places to lie in fourth spot on 54.483, an improvement of 2.997 from the previous week. The top 10 places this week are separated by only 4.620 (2.520).      

There were 29 new birdies or better recorded last week, with the highlights being the sub 80 rounds in the field, a 75 carded by Rouan Buitendag (5.8) which included four birdies (3 front 9, 1 back 9), three of which contributed to Ringers tally and a 78 carded by Kyle Charlwood (10.1) which included two birdies. The fourth eagle was achieved by Paul Monson (11.3) who managed to hole out his approach shot on the par 4 Hole # 8. This was only his second round in the competition and he improved his net score by an impressive 10 shots. 

Heading the lead in the birdies or better statistics with a tally of 9 birdies is Leighton Sparks (13.180) who recorded a new birdie on Hole # 8. Next are  Mal Ashton (8.714) and Rouan Buitendag (6.420) with 8 birdies each. Followed by David Harvey (9.000) with an eagle and 6 birdies then next are Ram Thapa (11.183), S Y Park (4.820) and Spencer Wicks (5.040) with 7 birdies each. 

There are now 43 players so far, to have to registered bogey or better on every hole. 

The hardest ranked holes determined by the numbers of birdies or better carded after Round 6, is Hole #  2 with two birdies recorded by the Ringers field, with the next being Hole # 9 with only 3 birdies recorded so far. The easiest hole is Hole # 12 with 22 birdies or better by different players. The next easiest is Hole # 1 with 20 birdies or better by different players, then Hole # 14 with 17 birdies.
